Since 2010, one single mission
Urgence Renouveau Haiti is a registered French association of general interest, born from the urgency of the earthquake of January 2010. What was meant to be a one-time aid effort became a commitment of over 15 years for the education of Haitian children.

Key milestones
The earthquake that changed everything
A magnitude 7.3 earthquake strikes Haiti. 300,000 dead, 1.2 million homeless. The worst humanitarian disaster in the country's history.

Emergency mission in Haiti
Justin Marchou deploys with the NGO Emergency Technical Engineering and Electricians Without Borders. 18 days in the field: structural assessments of 25 critical buildings (hospitals, schools, Red Cross), construction of temporary shelters, training of local workers.

Founding of URH
Back from the mission, Justin Marchou and colleagues found Urgence Renouveau Haiti. Registered with the Val-de-Marne Prefecture. Published in the French Official Gazette on April 17, 2010 (n° W941005862). The mayor of Maisons-Alfort provides a room for Haitian families.

Haiti Week at ICAM Nantes
Valery Breval and Jibril N'doye organize a solidarity week at the Institut Catholique d'Arts et Metiers. Breakfasts, tastings, fundraising. The money raised directly funds the first humanitarian container.

First humanitarian container
After weeks of collection (Casino Maisons-Alfort, schools, individuals), an 8 m³ container is loaded and shipped to Port-au-Prince. Total cost: €6,000, shared with associations ADENAC, Vivre et Sourire, Les Petits Amis and PAFHA. Estimated value of contents: €48,000.

Thanksgiving celebration
At the Salle Paroissiale St Gabriel in Maisons-Alfort, URH organizes its first major event: Haitian food tastings, artists (DJ Bilious, 97 Maffia, Little Lion), cultural stands, presentation of projects and partners. From noon to 10pm, the community comes together.

Container distribution in Haiti
The container arrives in Port-au-Prince. Nickelson Saint-Fleur and a civil protection officer coordinate distribution in Sarthe (Cite Soleil). Clothing, school supplies, hygiene products and food finally reach the families.

Mobilization in Paray-Vieille-Poste
The Municipal Youth Council of Paray-Vieille-Poste organizes a solidarity flea market. Vendors donate 12 m³ of goods for Haiti. A second 20-foot container is filled in partnership with the Zegue Zen association and shipped to Port-au-Prince.

Community football championships
To help youth overcome the trauma of the earthquake, URH organizes football tournaments in Montegrande. Beyond sport: awareness of seismic risks, HIV/AIDS prevention, distribution of sports equipment (60 jerseys, 100 shoes, 12 balls).

National holiday: singing competition
To celebrate the Haitian flag day, URH organizes a national anthem singing competition with 4 schools in Montegrande. The prizes: bicycles, dictionaries, notebooks, pencils. Education through national pride.

Construction of the school library
Ian and Sarah Hoad (Pays de la Loire team) build a library at the Institution Chretienne Jean Paulin Lassegue in Clersine. 1,300 school books sent by URH. The library serves the institution and surrounding schools.

Solidarity tournament with ERDF
The ERDF works council and the Awele association organize a football tournament in Vigneux. 200 colleagues participate. Ivorian and Haitian food tastings. The URH team wins the tournament! A moment of solidarity and community spirit.

Mission in Haiti
A URH delegation travels to Haiti to assess needs on the ground, meet local communities and prepare upcoming projects. The conclusion is clear: education remains the most powerful lever for the country's future.

4 schools, a new chapter
URH now supports 4 community schools in the most deprived regions of Haiti: Gaillard (Cayes-Jacmel), ACNOS Blanchard (Cite Soleil), IMACNOS Lorobe (Hinche) and the College de Castaches (Jeremie). More than 400 students and 34 teachers count on our support every month.
